It appears the final pinch is a cam-over action with the lever?
I saw an interesting *incident* using a worn out vice like this once. Although It was not a Bison.
The company then bought a Kurt normal screw type, as nobody would trust it after that.
I agree it is pretty cool looking.

For production work, fine, for day to day use on one off work, not so convenient.

Maybe on a drill press, don't think I'd trust it on a mill. The versatility of that fixed jaw looks cool though.

I have a small one that works like that. Came with the little mill from Princess Auto. I'd never use it on my RF-31.

Those make great drill press vises. But not so great on a mill. I have a less beefy version on my drill press.
