Boring with Sherline lathe

It's very easy. Basically you take off the handwheels on each axis, replace the outside handwheel bearings with one that have a slot around their edge and clamp on the encoders and put on the new handwheels. You should then spend a bit of time getting a handle on backlash, not difficult either and well explained. Plug the encoders into the readout box, plug it in to AC and do a one time setting of what leadscrews you have and what units you want to display in- very simple. Finally and optional really is to input the backlash values for each axis. If you're very meticulous, have a beverage on the side and enjoy working, its maybe an hour.
