Hello all! My first post here.
I recently received several oversized tools from my late grandfather. I don't normally work with heavy tools but am relatively handy and want to use these tools. One of these is a very heavy Buffalo FDM-5 Drill Press. It is about six feet tall and between 150 and 200 pounds. I've done the typical Google searches and haven't been able to find any references to this particular model. Simply going by it's serial number, I thought there would be many of these out there. It's still functional and I'd like to get it cleaned up and modernized. I learned the 2 -1/2 Jacobs Taper is apparently a Chinese product and not regularly available. Is there someone who can give me more information about this drill press? What upgrade options do I have for this drill press?
Thanks a bunch for any advice!

Jacobs 2-1/2 is a thing, just not too common:
Is there a chuck on the machine now?
With only 5 speeds, the lowest speed is probably rather high, so you are probably limited to 1/2" drills in aluminum and probably 3/8" maximum in steel
