Can servo motors be used for CNC?

I found some nice servo motors at the scrap yard along with some ball screws and linear bearing slides. Also got a pair of linear actuators that seem to be missing a optical scale. Can these be used to build a small CNC router or mill? Tag is hard to read. 10 Volt 5.22 Res 7500 RPM (there is a gear reduction) .31 Kw

Well the short answer is yes, servo motors would be prefered for a CNC. But without the drivers the motors are pretty useless. Check the Parker website for documentation on the motors.

Unfortunately the drivers were not with the motors. Are drivers generic or proprietary?

It is normally best to use a matched pair. If you really know what you are doing, it might be possible to make a mismatched pair work.
