I got the 40yr old Bridgeport from FB Marketplace. Hooked up 220V 3-phase, and started cutting metal.
Never really cut like a 2Hp motor should. It would stall if a 1/2" endmill dug in. Which it did. Repeatedly. Snapping nice carbide endmills in the process.
If you've got a weak motor. Check that your 220V motor isn't wired up as a 440V.

Happened once while at work . Cost the company 18 hrs of downtime and 10 hrs OT for me and my boss . Wired by a journeyman electrician . :burned up::cussing:
