Chuck Options

Just finished up grinding the jaws. Seemed to go quite well. Used a Dremel mounted on the compound, and aluminum blocks to load the jaws. It improved the holding ability of he chuck. No more gaps between the jaws and the work. Very minor runout improvement. I'm around 0.0035. Not too bad. Like others have mentioned, probably a worn scroll, which can be expected from an old chuck. Should be able to work with this improved 3-jaw and my old 4-jaw.

Thanks again for all the insight that has been shared.

Have a great weekend!
