Has anyone seen one of these? It holds 5c collets and you can use it in a 4-jaw chuck.

I picked one up recently and it gets stuck/hard to turn before completely locking the collet -- I think the threads are damaged. Anyone know how they come apart?

No, but now that you've put it up here, I'm pretty sure I need one. :)

At work I used to use a collet block for some drill press things I used to do. It had a wire "snap ring" inside of it. If it were me, I'd screw a collet in backwards for a little bit of a handle, and pull/rock to see if that feels like it might be the case. There's probably a thousand ways to do that, so I can't say I'm right. I wouldn't go all cave man on it trying to make it work, but it's worth a shot.

I also think, based on blowing your photo up to as big as it'll go, it looks kind like I might first (if it were mine), try a wire brush on a dremel type tool if you've got one that'll fit in there. Maybe polish it up a bit first. Maybe that's all it needs?
