cleaning chuck

Recently took 6 inch 3 jaw chuck apart for cleaning out swarf that was tending to affect operation. During cleaning I had a bright idea that possibly some dry lube might be less likely to hold and carry trash into guts. Had some moly dri film on hand and applied liberally to all parts and put it all back together. So far seems OK with slightly smoother operation.

Any reasons why this is not a good idea?

when I tear down the one at work< I use silicon spray on it. it drys clean and lubes at same time. also doesn't allow rust.
