Collet Identification

Hello everyone, not new here, but first post. My dad found this collet at a yard sale, can someone enlighten me what it is for? Why it would be angled like it is and any other info you can provide? It is in the evaporust tub presently. Thanks for your help!

That looks like a machinable C-5 collet.

It was machined for what looks like a custom angled washer or part and can be re-cut to make whatever you desire.
