Hi Folks,

my first post, I bought the used craftsman 12 inch lath from previous wood worker, I had it cleaned to the best of my abilities and just recently had time to check if everything runs after I mounted it on the bench.
I found that lead screw can be easily stopped with the hand when in motion , so when I started investigation I found that the middle shaft on which the Left hand gear selector sit is slipping when spindle is in motion and when I tried to look further into it by removing the shaft I found that key is sheared which sits in between the left hand selector gear keyway and the shaft keyway.

I looked long on the internet and also in the manuals I could find online but could not locate the part number or part description of the key.

Apologies in advance as I am just a beginner and may not be able to describe the issue or word it correctly. but I have pictures of the issue at hand I think attached here.

any help would be appreciated in identifying the part.

Thanks in advance
Jay

I believe the keys used are standard USA sizes; measure the thickness of the key and make a trip to the local hardware store

Thank you sir, I was able to source the key locally and adapted to the way and got it working again yesterday.
