Cutting magnesium

I just bought some magnesium shavings from eBay. They were reasonably priced and decent sized little bags that were stuffed full. I'll use these to demonstrate the flammability of magnesium for my CIMM 130 class. The seller is megans_merchandise and they were shipped very quickly.

I'm recalling the days when I managed the engineering team @ a size able printing & POP Display co. A specialty of the co was short injection-molded runs of wall plaques. These were often engraved in plate magnesium. The die shop donated the chips from the engraving process to the Milwaukee Fire Dept. for which they received an award from the city. That also solved cost of disposal problems as well. Nothing like a win-win !
