Saw this cup last week made out of wood and wondered how it would look if it was made out of steel.

Yes there are YouTube videos but it is done on a wood lathe. With the technique you could not use dissimilar metals as the ring around the ste is machined from the parent stock in place so that it is captured on the cup.
