It has a variable speed, reeves type belt drive.
But also has a back gear for the lower range of speeds.
It may be a few weeks till I can get it into a warm place and get power to it to test it.

Note the 3 screw holes and the rectangular hole on the right side of the head. I assume they were for an optional power feed.
The head on this is bigger than it looks in the photos.
I bid on one of these a couple years ago when I was looking for a DP. But it was in Indianapolis - long drive - so I didn't bid very high.
I bought another dp after that so don't really need this but they are so cool looking that I kinda kept an eye out for one. This one was only 25 mi from home.
Aa was suggested in the other thread about benefits of second drill presses, I will likely put a countersink in it and leave it there.
