I know this is a subject that has been beat to death. I sharpen some by hand, and some on my swingy thing, but the really small ones, I just can't. Looking at this one, and would like your opinions, especially if you have used one. Setup? I know a drill doctor probably makes more sense 282224353_7444206908987737_4262619254181067364_n.jpg283808513_5569604276391174_3376560693852677678_n.jpg285251383_8343605195665316_7311947843074062068_n.jpg

Black Diamond drill grinders are top of the line. New they run between $6,000.00 and $10,000.00 depending on the model. I have had a model 65 (built for the military) for several years. It's excellent machine. It can sharpen letter, number and fractional drills up to 3/4". I bought it to replace a Drill Doctor I wore out.

Mine was missing a few collets. I looked into purchasing replacements from Black Diamond, but at nearly $50.00 a copy I decided to make my own. They're the shiny ones in the collet racks. I also made a few extra blanks in case I needed more in the future. With my recent acquisition of nearly 100 metric drills, I may be making more in the future.

Here are some pictures of my machine:
