Well this finally happened today. My first personal lathe that I purchased. No tooling.$500.runs fine. Little leaky.
Got it from work to my garage.
I plan on tearing it down somewhat..maybe redoing the electric panel. Possible repaint.

This thread will be mostly for documentation for myself and others who are interested.

It's and 1996 Enco 12x36 110-2079

Please enjoy ...more to come.

That is not me in the picture.

Nice Score!
the QCGB is 100% loss lubrication, only the spindle is sealed.

Lotsa fun to be had!
I wonder if some rtv would work for the bearing caps in the head. Yeah I think the qcgb is separate from the spindle gearbox/head and is a drip oil style from the oiler inserts. Far as I can tell they are connected through the change gears on the back...not 100% on that yet... The electric panel is soaked with oil? The contacts were a little crusty I busted one open after buying replacements. I don't mind a little leaky-ness.

After spending a few hours lifting my 12x37 lathe and putting it on a pallet I am really starting to become super jealous of people with fork lifts

This was a very rare occurrence...I really lucked out today with getting help ..for free. I owe the guy.
I picked up my new chipmaster this past week, and when I arrived the seller had it on a fork lift ready to go. Took it to my new buddie''s place and offloaded with his tractor with forks.

Gotta love that. I have a horror story from our bridgeport move
