Recently an oil leak developed through the Low/Medium/High speed change shaft on the right of the front of the gear head. I have looked at the manual (copy from internet) and there is not enough detail to show what the seal is made of or how it is put in place. It appears that a c-clip is toward the inside of the shaft (toward inside of the head casting). I assume this is some sort of hard rubber that is pressed in from the outside of the head, perhaps with an o-ring or two for the bore and the shaft, but really do not know. I contacted Enco, who tried to help, but advised the factory in China had closed. I found a Youtube video of working on the inside of the head to replace bearings, but no detail was present in them concerning the seals or how they are installed.
I temporarily put some adhesive glue around the outside of the shaft that reduced the leak to a few drops a day, but could use some help if anyone has detail about this seal. Thanks, Bob
