Remember back in the days before we were old enough to go to bars? Driving out into the country and parking somewhere to drink, smoke, listen to music, and maybe get a little? Fast forward 50 years and here we are again. We can't go out and socialize, so we have to improvise. Recently cabin fever has been setting in, so my wife and I have rediscovered the joy of "parking". We'll load up a bottle of wine and some cheese and crackers and drive out the back roads to a place with a nice view. We'll sit and drink, snack, listen to music and talk. We have, however, given up climbing into the back seat.

Left to right are Lassen Peak, Diamond Peak (hidden by clouds) and Broke-off Mountain. The area in the foreground burned in 2012, which opened up this view.

What a view and sounds like the best quality of time spent.

Or being escorted home in the back of a patrol car for drinking in the park and having your Army boxing champ Dad level you with a big one right to the snout.

Back in the day we could make out in a two seater sports car. But they make Toyota Previas for that nowadays.

"climbing into the back seat" That's why my frau and I own a Subaru Forester. Way before that, it was a Ford Falcon station wagon.

I managed to avoid the patrol car --- but still do not like most cops, remembering their stopping me so many times ----

And no worry now about some cop shining his flashlight at an potentially embarrassing moment!
then having him check the ashtray for contraband before advising you drive a littler further down the road where he and his wife used to park.
