Facing question from newbe

I too aggree that I would reverse the jaws slightly tapping & tighten or use a paralel behind just make
sure to remove it. I try to see what you are chucked to, a shaft hub or something? A chance this hub
may not be concentric in the first place. Or turn a shaft used as a mandril then face it using a dead/
live center. I think being a clutch plate it better run true or "chatter". Myself facing, Imake a practice
also to face from center out by hand a few passes,a clean up,then fine power feed in. You will find out
fast as to face something cut with a torch or crooked hack saw as to why to face out. I know this may
be in your future someday, I commonly will face with a good ole HSS twist drill just keep it choked up
close to its holder. experiment a little the finish is amazing, good for turning too. Ifyou have a lantern
style just sanwich it between a couple of toolbits.
