Female ball cutter

I have to put a ball end on a lot of 1/4 inch stainless rods> ive been doing it on a belt sander but that gets old real fast. Is there some sort of cutter that would do it? and whats it called? thanks

for 1/4" a form tool might work good.

You must be looking for a radii cutter, AKA ball turner. They can cut concave and convex radii, or male and female if you choose.

Edit: And if Lorena was after balls, Johnny B would have had a very different career after his divorce...

I'd use a lathe and a ball turner, or failing that a grinding fixture that pivots and holds the rod in a collet so you can spin it too

I have zero experience turning stainless, but you're only looking at a 1/8" radius. I bet it would work just fine.
