This is my first post so I thought I a would add my Atlas/Clausing lathe to the list. It is a 12 X 36 with Quick Change, Cabinet and Timken Roller bearings. Model #3996 Serial #105153. I bought it off of ebay 10+ years ago and added a Trav-A-Dial. The ways are in excellent condition. I have no historical information on it, so any additional info would be appreciated.

Welcome aboard and what a nice looking machine!

According to the below link your lathe was also baged as a Craftsman 12 inch lathe.

And hear is a manual for it that you can download.

Richard,
They have been quite useful. They were easy to make from some 1 1/2" wide X 3/16" thick and 2 1/4" long flat stock welded to a piece of tubing and mounted to my bandsaw out feed table which is directly behind the lathe.

Welcome to the site and that's a nice 3996 . I sold mine a few months back to another member on here but haven't heard back or seen him lately on the board . They were a capable lathe and it looks as though you have a nice one . :encourage:

Welcome aboard. Ditto on the toolholder rack. Very nice.

Regards,
Terry
