Finishing up a Upshur vertical engine. Need to make a decision on what type of fuel to use . Gas mixed with oil , Coleman fuel ? What do you guys use . This is my first engine build sure can use some advice ! Thanks

I would use the cleanest burning fuel I can find. Pump gas has many additives that you don’t need for this application.

I believe so, camp fuel/ lighter fluid is naphtha which is very clean burning- also called "white gas"- a very light petroleum distillate

Coleman fuel is likely the cleanest. After that alcohols?

I have been using Coleman fuel with 10% WD40 added for lubrication on all of my engines.

Do you have a build thread of your engine?

What about Coleman and Kerosene? I would think cleaner than WD40.

Pierre, Does kerosene have lubricating properties ? I like the idea of wd-40 as i keep that in the shop anyways . Thanks for the tip who knows i might try it. John

I am running premixed 50-1 Trufuel from Tractor Supply with good results.
