So they usually go for scrap prices around here unless someone knows what they’re looking at and want it.

If you see a HLV-H EM (english-metric) in good shape: pass it along! I never see them go less than many thousands in the northeast. Its one of my holy grail lathes but typically too expensive.

I have always liked them for the accuracy. But same deal here on the West Coast. Bur until recently I thought a Hardig was a Hardige. I guess the ones made in England were the most terrible ones. No support parts, English electrical, we always teased anyone driving an English carbwith Lucas electrical system, they always failed.
Someday we will both find one.
