I’m rebuilding a 1944 H10. The cf lead screw is badly worn. It is a 7/16” X 10 LH acme screw. I can’t find a screw to match. I CAN find a 1/2” x 10 LH screw. If I bore the appropriate bushings and make a 1/2” x 10 bronze but, will the dial ratio remain constant? Please share your thoughts. D074CB50-8425-45D5-A47C-668FD7D9A854.png

I did something similar on a Burke mill. The screw was ok but the nut was worn. I bought a new round nut from McMaster Carr, bored out the old nut and press fit the new round nut in with Loctite and a set screw.

I did the same thing to a 9A. Used the 1/2" screw and made a matching nut. Making the nut was easier than I thought.
