Help wanted solving a mill bed problem

I get what you are saying Tim, but I have used the swivel quite a few times seeing that my mill/drill can't swivel forward an backward, but only left and right and that is why I had to get the vice for those tipe of jobs. The problem does lie with the vice so I am going to clamp a piece of square stock on the bed, mill it concentric with the bed and flip the vice over and clamp it onto the stock. I will the give the base a light mill to get it concentric with the bed and I believe that will solve my problem.

If you could clamp a precision chunk of steel in your vise and then flip the whole
thing upside down and bolt the chunk of steel fast to your table then you could
take a fly cutter to the bottom of the vise to true it up...

Thanks for your input KBeitz. I also thought of that, but in the end I refurbished a vice I got with the machine, you can check it out on a post I did on it "Refurbishing a machine vice" I think is the title.

Michael.
