How do you use machinist jacks in your shop?

I used two jacks to hold up and support the crankcase of a hit and miss engine while I drilled the caps for the crankshaft. I have several sizes that were made by an old timer ( my father-in-law) who was a tool and die maker.

Very handy little things to have in ones tool box.

Cool thread, I always wondered how these things were used. Now I may have to get me some, well once the machine gets back together. Oh no, may be sooner I just realize I could use them on my drill press also. ;)
 
Hi Guys

Here is a pic of a plate that was being drilled for the bolt pattern, on the rotary table. I couldnt grab the disc on the OD, as the thing was larger dia than the R/T itself. I used two machinist jacks to support it while the operation took place.
