This is the first part of a video series explaining how to install a PID on a kiln.

The kiln was taken apart and the vermiculate and asbestos insulation is scrapped.
The hole for the thermocouple is drilled through the back wall.

The video is suitable for the hearing impaired and persons who have difficulties in understanding my spoken English.
The video has hand written subtitles in English, German and Finnish languages.

With most modern PID controllers, "setting them up" means pushing a button to automatically calibrate the control cycle. Back in the day, there was a lot of trial and error.

In order to be able to have the PID controller conveniently attached to the kiln, a pedestal is needed.

Putting the kiln back together with modern insulation.
Instead of vermiculate and asbestos it will be ceramic fibre blanket.
