Noobie machinist here (but an experienced EE) who’s been trying to assemble all the various bits one needs for the machine shop.
Bought this tool box & contents from machinist who was out of the biz and didn’t want to take with him when he moved.

$50. Yup, Fifty!!!!!!

I’m not even sure what a few of them are. Though I do recognize the toenail clippers

The machinist bible in there alone runs almost $50 on feeBay.

That's a smokin' deal! I bought a similar box at an estate sale for about the same price with much less stuff. A lot of those tools are useful only if you have machines. Get them organized and figure out what you have and what you will use in the future. Try to use at least three of the tools in the next few weeks. This will keep you moving (instead of gloating, which is still fine).

Thanks Ericc. At the moment my main machine is a Smithy CB1220 ( old version of their Midas). I got it years ago for $500 with almost zero hours on it and a bench and all the goodies - but only recently have I been able to get my shop together.
I do have a 40” lathe in storage but I want to start with something smaller.

Are you sure that was not hot or something like that. Around here the box would cost you more than that, much less any of the tools in it. You did get a good deal. Start cleaning them up and use they. Just to make sure they work and you get use to them.
