Thats different. No oil on brake surfaces. Get something like the cosmoline type product (I’m guessing cosmoline based on color and texture) they use on aftermarket brake discs and it comes off clean with brake kleen type products.
 
A sticky oil that's easy to find, boiled linseed oil, has the advantage of turning solid after a few days. That's
the basis of old oil paints. For machinery that has sliding parts, it's soft enough to get out of the way... and fluid
enough (at time-of-application) to fill the little pits that would promote rust.

Nevermind...

They will get surface rust, one stop and gone.

When installed they get wet and rusty, brakes are self cleaning.
