I thought I would share my test today using the D Gray Drafting index plates to make a hex head on my milling attachment. These provide a somewhat cheaper alternative to collet blocks for setting up relative angles for cuts, and can be set up on odd sized stock without a specific collet.

Tested my set today to cut a 3/8 hex head. It worked perfectly the first try. I was surprised that a cheap alternative worked so nicely.

@Doug Gray thanks

So glad your enjoying your set Makintrax. Anther huge advantage is they they can be removed as needed for a certain operation and then reset.

I happened to use mine this weekend to cross drill two holes 90 degrees apart in some shafting.
(Love your milling vice se up on the lathe)
