Indicator bore attachment

I wanted an attachment for my indicator to pick up a bore in the 4 jaw. The more modern Starrett versions (670/671) are going for $50-$100 on eBay. The older 196 version for the back plunger indicators can be had for about $20. I made this adaptor to use that older version along with a new tip for the indicator with a flat face. works great for $20 and some scrap from the bin for the holder.

A useful feature of the Hole Attachment is the LONG reach.
For the Mark II version of your adaptor, consider pushing the pin out the 'chuck side' and moving the indicator over accordingly.
That will allow you the reach much deeper into a workpiece.
