Introductory forum?

I think they are referring to the GENERAL HOME MACHINE SHOP DISCUSSIONS sub forum (the one in which this thread you started is posted), not the introductory thread that you quoted from (that's a thread within a forum, not a forum itself), and yeah, since it's just a description of the forum posted by a moderator (presumably), it makes sense to lock it and pin it...

Thanks, I hadn't realized the complexity of 'forums'. Nor had I realized the 8 month time lap. Maturity does that, I guess.
