JUST FOUND THIS

bought this ata yard sale that looked very handy and needing to know if its left or right hand tool..............hoping its used in a mill

The drill is obviously right handed, it appears that the tool bit could be used either direction. Also can be used in a drill press, this is a common hardware store item.

I have one of those but not nearly as nice. The hex shank on the horizontal bit would do a lot to resist the torque from the tool bit.

Sometimes called a Trepanning tool. I cuts wood or metal.

so Im not SOL it can cut metal
so what kind of tool would I use for metal??

They are great for sheet metal if it is glued to wood but quite scary in a drill press with >1/8” takes awhile and shakes a lot but beats a hacksaw and file.

Always found these to be a hideous tool, eventually threw mine away.
