So I took my new K&T off the trailer this weekend and put it at my parents for now because I don’t have room at my shop yet . But hope in like a month !! I started to clean it up and go over original I was told it was a 205 -S-12 but after going thru and looking at all the paperwork it seems that this is a 307-S-12 and is a step up from the 205 . Still waiting for the manual to come but so far I’m really liking this mill and can’t wait to use it !! Any advice is welcome I’m new to the K&T mills

Looks like a very nice machine, complete with universal head. I have an older 3K vertical, doesn't carry over directly, but I really like the K&Ts. About the only thing I would say is go ahead and drain and refill all of the oil reservoirs. vintagemachinery.org has quite a few K&T manuals, some may be applicable.

Yup thanks for the advice that was already on my list of things to do I also got 5 gals of oil for the mill that the owner had that he bought for the mill

Looking thru the paperwork that came with the mill it was purchased in 1977 to a business in P.A. For the cost of $38,630.00 ( Stanley Flag Company) I also have some maintenance, service tickets from when K&T went out to service the mill so it was taken care of on a regular basis I’m the third owner and the previous owner mainly did work in plastic and Uhmw plastic so it didn’t have a hard life it’s all pretty cool to see all records and such . I was very lucky to run across this one . And this man also had a really nice Hardinge lathe for sale but someone from Ohio beat me to that and that lathe was like brand new also with very little use . I can wait to get some more concrete in my shop so I can get the mill home and start making some chips with it

It also came with a bunch of tooling and there is no way I’ll need this many horizontal Arbors for a K&T Mill so once I go thru them I’ll probably be looking to sell or trade. The one down side of you will the Mill only came with One B-Arbor support so I’ll be keeping a eye out for the A-Arbor support

Make sure you have the drive arbor with the gear for the vertical head. It looks like a stub arbor with a helical gear on it. For some reason they are easily misplaced and is required to drive the vertical head. The mill looks to be in nice condition. Nice find.

That's a beauty. My finds always seem to need attention in one area or another, but I do learn a lot in the process. Mike

Yes I have the drive gear for the universal head
And it came with one over arm arbor support the B Style I think so I am looking for the A- style one now

Thanks this was definitely a lucky Craigslist find witch is where I have found most of my machines and yes all my other ones have needed some attention in one area or the other and I have learned a lot with going over them and making repairs and such . I started down this machining Rabbit Hole about 6 years ago and back then I never though I would have the stuff I do now and it has been a awesome journey just like Hobby-Machinist joining this form Everyone is super nice and very helpful I’ve learned so much

There is another machine that I’m probably going to get from him also it’s a Hansford Davis Keyseater that is also in really good condition
I don’t have one and I don’t have any broach’s and this machine also comes with a bunch of tooling
