I managed to get a built 327 into a '73 Toyota Land Cruiser, many, many years ago - That was my limit.
It did do pretty well with the stock 4:11 rear, though :~)
Had a coworker shoehorn a 427 c.i. into a Vega. A lot of cutting welding but didn't look too unseemly when he finished.
He rolled it out into the driveway, fired it up. Revved it pretty good.
Windshield popped out, slid off the hood and busted on the concrete.
my most outrageous swap was a BSA Rocket 3 shoehorned into a rigid B32 frame with 15" over solid forks.
I swear the frame twisted on full acceleration.
I did it for a mate, scared the crap out of me.
