Hi Guys,
I recently purchased a KBC Grip 1340G lathe. I believe it’s from the 1980’s and made in Taiwan.
I’ve tried a search on the internet and called KBC, for a manual ,but no luck.
Would anybody have a manual for this machine?
I’ve included some pictures for reference.
Thanks

Nice lathe there. It is a LeBlond copy, not that it helps, it's just the design basis. I'd bet money that it's late 1990's manufacture, maybe even Y2k. Looks super solid for a 13".

Look for visual cues to sort out its clones to track down a manual. Look at the positions of the controls and the shape of the castings to home in on it. Ignore paint, placards, and the shape of the sheet metal, individual manufacturers took liberty there.

I'd say you done good with that purchase.

Edit: I'm pretty sure that's a rebadged Sharp 1340.

Found this post from Bob Korves:

Found out that this KBC lathe was made by Takang in Taiwan.
Maybe someone has the manual for a Takang

For anyone interested, I’ve found that the Takang 105L manual is available and very similar to the KBC lathe listed. I ordered this and it’s been helpful deciphering what levers and dials do what.
