Lathe Dog & Face Plate.

I got a 4" Lathe Dog from enco so I could clean up the over arms for my Horizontal Mill. The dog has a bent tail about 1 1/8 wide the face plate for my ATW has 5/8 slots.

Would you open the slots to 1 1/8 or cut down the tail to fit the face plate? I was thinking that if I opened up the slot I would have to do 2 that are in line so as to keep the balance right. Or would I need to do all 4 slots?

Can do all of those and the face plate already has 4 T-Slots. I'm going to use my 106 year old ATW 20 x 66. Don't want to put all that weight on my 13" South bend.
