Lathe Dogs

My 2cts.: For me, purchased dogs are 35+ miles each way, through a bazillion stop lights and speed zones, or I don't have to wait for shipping, and the notion that every now and then I can build one more suitable for the job than a commercial one, and I do have some of those too.

+ when your on a fixed income every cent counts and i do have dumpster privileges at a local machine shop, hehe , this is a hobby for me most of the times and gets me out of the house so my legs dont go down on me, so i would rather make than buy when i can cause in the finished product i can say i made it and who knows latter down the road my son or grandkids can use and say my pap made this yrs ago.) Lathe dogs are so CHEAP!!! Why make them?

Cheap to buy, but even cheaper to make; and the self made ones come with a measure of satisfaction that's missing from the store bought ones.
