I thought I would post these up to give some ideas on adding way wipers.
My lathe never came with any like most (other than rubber ones on the carriage) so I added them to the cross slide, compound and both sides of the tail stock. I just made them up out of thin sheet metal folded over a bit of flat bar in the vice. The screws holding them are Metric 5mm, and I just used some slot head screws I had here that I picked up cheap for the box.
The tail stock ones do a great job of keeping stuff from getting under it as I had problems before, and the compound one does a good job of keeping the dovetails clean as it's fight near the cutting tool and cops a lot swarf and grit.
The long stud on the tail stock is a stop to stop the tail stock contacting the cross slide scale. It contacts the cross slide under the scale.
