I need to make space for a Logan 1825 lathe. Can anyone let me know the "footprint" of the chip tray? Also, height from the floor at the head and tailstock. (I need to see if a shelf will clear). Thanks for your help.

Hey Dave . I googled this and came up with many pics and threads on here but no dimensions . I see you're right up the road btw in Cecil Cty . :)

chip pan are:
Overall length - 58 1/4"
Overall width - 22 1/4"
Base of headstock 8 3/4" from left end measured from the break line
where the lip turns up
Base of headstock 5 1/2" from front measured from the break line.

And I found the attached.

No guarantee, but they look correct.

Thank you for that! I can use this to determine the position of the lathe before I go get it.

Yes I am in Cecil Co, MD. I grew up in Reading PA and never thought I would live south of the Mason Dixon Line! (Tho I now live less than a mile from it, and I was actually born in Virginia).

There is a good local group, the Chesapeake Area Metalworking Society, with an old-school email list. You can Google them or drop me a note.
