I acquired this Logan 2555V a few months ago. Mechanically it is dead on and in great shape. Esthetically, it was a mess. about 50 years worth of grime, grease oil and about 5 coats of paint. The motor was 1 hp 3 ph 240 volt . The motor was fried and needed replacement. I replaced the motor with a 2hp 1 ph 220 volt A.O Smith motor. What I did not realize when I purchased this lathe was it weighs over 1100 pounds. I had to hire a rigger to get it in. Now THAT was a job..lol

After a through degreasing and cleaning I power wire brushed the entire lathe down to bare metal, then primed it. The final coat is Rustoleum machinery gray.

I am a Mechanical Engineer and use it to make prototypes of parts I design.

I will try and include some before and after photos.

Well hello.
That's one hell of a lot better.
What year is the Logan?

I believe the lathe was made in 1968.

Oh yeah. Lots of chips. That Logan is here to work, not to just look pretty.

Congratulations on the purchase of a great machine. :encourage: You did a great job on the resto. Keep the chips flyin'.

I merged your two threads into this one.

Thank you. I screwed up and did not know how to fix it.
