My 6560 had stripped threads on the bolts that hold down the compound. The previous owner had attempted to put regular hardware store bolts in, but it made it near impossible to tighten the compound. I finally got around to making custom parts that matched the original. If you’re having this problem you might want to see how I chose to do it. I’m sure there are other ways as well, but this worked perfectly. I used my 6560 to turn the pieces out, and then used collet blocks on my Bridgeport to make the rectangle shaped base to the bolts.

The bolts have a rectangular base that allow them to slide around a circular slot as the compound rotates. There is a small hole on the side of the operator where the bolts can be installed. They are relatively weak, being 5/16-18 thread. I think this is one area where the 6560 is under built.

If you try to install a regular hex head bolt, it will spin in the slot and you won’t be able to tighten it down very well.
