There are a number of significant difference that you may consider, I would also look at the PM-1128VF-LB (a $100 more than the 1127). The 1127 and 1128 both have D1-4 chuck mounts which opens up a very wide selection of chucks that can be used. They also have separate leadscrew and feed screws, and powered cross slide vs. the 1030. A larger spindle bore is always an advantage, and matches up with the D1-4 mounting hole dimensions, you will almost always be limited by the spindle bore (although there are work arounds). The 1128 will require less change gears. There are a number of postings and videos on these models, worth reviewing and/or PM the posters for further info. Tough to ante up the additional $$, but I started out looking at the 1128 and ended up with a 1340GT lathe. Thought it was more than I needed, but if the 1440GT with a 2" spindle bore was available at the time it would have made the short list.
