Although my lathe is quite rigid it still has trouble in parting thick material.
I have now purchased the Sandvik CoroCut QD parting blade with 2 millimetre inserts.
That blade is left handed and it is held upside down in the holder.
That blade has a coolant passage which I utilize to deliver cutting oil when needed.
