Mill riser block

So, I have a first 185 it’s the same as a sharp Tmv. It came to me with a 8” riser block installed. I was considering removing it due to the fact that it’s a stretch to adjust the head controls and impossible to get at the draw bar without a ladder (Im 6ft). What’s your opinion, is it worth keeping it in?

If you have sufficient rigidity I’d keep it. You can always build a platform in front of the machine, or keep a step stool handy.

As soon as you remove it you’ll have a project that needs the extra clearance.

If you build a platform be careful to not accidently step off it. Ask me how I know. LOL

Definitely keep it, I'm 6 3 and stand on a platform, it's worth it .
