We had a manager put a diversity hire on an 80T AIDA press and whenever a die wouldn’t cut he would “Put more presser on it” by adjusting the ram. Did this 20 times….at least.
We tried getting him taken off but this boss thought he just needed more time to learn the job. He wound up getting so many second chances they fired him. That supervisor helped the guy right out of a job, all in the name of progress.
The best I ever saw was our 600T getting stuck on bottom for 3 days.
As a toolmaker I really hate it when the cutting torches come out.
