Motor & Drum switch help.

Looks like a 10a motor, so you could get away with 16 gauge wire. That said, anything less than ~12 gauge freaks me out a little, so I always default to 12 gauge.

14 gauge stranded wire is fine. 16 gauge ok for short runs like 3 feet between motor and switch terminals 1,2,3,4- those 4 are start wires- lo current
Use 14 gauge for the main AC feed, switch terminals 5 and 6 and stud 1 and 2

The yellow and brown stay where they were in post #2
Interchange red and black if you need to
to match motor rotation to switch

Success. Wired perfect the first time. Only had to switch the Red and Black.

Thank you

Haha. Yes as my Garage had a mess bomb go off in there. I am working outside. Beautiful day 72 deg starting to get a bit cloudy. It is a nice reprieve from all the rain. Maybe tomorrow I will mount it on the lathe.

LOL I have the same situation in my garage. Wow you have some cool goodies in there...I see a Logan and I think a Southie. Did you make that steady rest?
I'd like to know more about that

Mounted and done. Only need to make a proper switch.
