I am trying to trouble shoot a problem I have with my MVN table. When I move the table towards the left, the test indicator on a solid 123 block has a steady reading, but as soon as I reverse direction to move the table towards the right, the indicator jumps up almost 0.001” and stays steady as I drive the table. If I then go back to the left, it drops by the same amount.
I plan on removing the saddle and table to check the gib adjustment, but wondering if this indicates a different problem and there is anything else I should be checking as well? I can raise the table by about 0.003” when using the table lock, so the gibs are a bit loose, I’m hoping that is the only issue.
