Just got back from choir practice. Being a holiday it was kind of slow but I did find this in the shop. A red AMX. These cars were only made for three years between 1968-1970 with a total production run of a little over 19,000 units. At $3,425 it was a $1,000 less than and 1" shorter than a Corvette. It was introduced at Daytona Speedway on February 15 1968 where it ran a hot lap at 130mph. At the time this was the only other two seat muscle / sports car built in America. *G*
Last week there was a Cord at the shop for some front end work. Bill Lear {Lear jet , 8 track tape player inventor} bought into the company looking for a platform for a motor he was designing .He never got the motor past the prototype stage but they did turn out some of these cars. The engine option was a 302 Ford or a 440 Mopar. This one has the 302 Ford. I can't wait till tomorrow to see what shows up. ********G**********
Some good looking cars grumpygator. Not trying to steel the post, just add to it. Here are some pics of my last streetrod leaving home last Friday. Going from South Texas to Santa Maria, Ca. She has some good company for the ride, 5 Z06 vette's and a '57 Chevy.
