Need help.........

I have a very old Central Machinery mini lathe, Model # 1679. It's been good to me, but the rack teeth are worn out. Anyone know where I can find a replacement part or somebody that has used parts for these lathes? Thanks in advance for any help..............

I think Central lathe is from Harbor Freight tools. I would call them.

Probably impossible to find the exact part- what about flipping the rack end for end? Usually the worst wear is near the headstock
You might be able to fit a rack from another lathe like Grizzly but compatibility is a crap shoot

Might be a long shot, but does McMaster Carr have anything close you can modify?

We have about 20 chunks of racks about the right size.

No clue what they were for, drill press table or lathe...

Post photo of your with some measurements.

In the for sale section there should be photos of what we have.

May be possible to make it work...

Pull the rack off.
Rack is commonly available. Post a pic of your rack.
Look at the mcmaster carr website and try to match a peice of rack.
Keep Posting.
What does the pinion gear look like? Take pictures and post.
This is not hard, we will help
