Replacing the bearings in my old PM25 and thought to ask the experts here about grease.
NOTE: I replace the spindle bearings when I bought the machine 10 years ago and use some (white-ish?) expensive grease that was recommended. It didn't work very well, which is why I'm replacing the bearings during the machine rebuild/cleanup.
The two upper ball bearings are sealed (Nachi), so I'm not worried about them. But the spindle is supported/held by two tapered roller bearings (again Nachi) and can be a bit fussy about grease, or so my past experiences have shown. So, suggestions on grease type? Synthetic? Plain old wheel bearing grease? Thanks.
